The Restaurant Opportunities Center of Chicago (ROC-Chicago)

The Restaurant Opportunities Center of Chicago (ROC-Chicago) is a member-based organization dedicated to improving working conditions for restaurant workers and increasing public recognition of the contributions that restaurant workers make to Chicago's culture and economy. Our job training classes are completely free! ENROLLING for classes NOW! We are enrolling for the following classes: Front of the House 101:


Introduction to Restaurant Customer Service, including Bartending, Fine-Dining Service, Wine, and more, as a first step towards more advanced skills. Front of the House 201: Introduction to Bartending/Fine Dining Server Training: Learn basic skills required to become a bartender. Also learn fundamentals necessary to become a fine dining server from greetings to cocktail and wine service, and appetizer and entrée ordering. To be eligible for FOH 201, you must have either taken FOH 101 or be able to prove that you have some experience in the food service industry. Career Ladders for Women: A Job Readiness Course for single mothers. This class is incorporated with our Front the House 101 and 201 classes. ESOL/ English for Speakers of other Languages-Restaurant Workers: Obtain language skills restaurant workers need in order to communicate effectively and confidently in English so that they can meet their needs. To participate in the classes, you must meet the following criteria:
 AND attend an orientation
